CERTIFICATION FORESTER: Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) has an opening for a full time Certification Forester. See www.scscertified.com/jobs/ for a complete description. The Certification Forester carries out a range of professional activities associated with FSC forest management certification and greenhouse gas (GHG) verification projects. Our forest certification projects are conducted around the world, and done so under the auspices of the Forest Stewardship Council-FSC (www.fsc.org). Forest carbon verification projects are conducted under an array of programs including CCAR, CCX, VCS and CCBA. The position is based out of SCS’ Point Richmond, CA office and requires between 20-40% travel, depending on the season. Compensation is based on qualifications and prior experience. ROAD ASSESSMENT TECHNICIANS (3 Full Time – Korbel Location): Pay rate: +- $2,370/month; eligible for benefits and overtime pay. If you have a Bachelor’s degree in hydrology, geology, forestry, watershed or related program & can use field tools, read maps, and love adverse outdoor conditions, apply for our FT positions with benefits. Duties include: conducting road assessment and maintenance monitoring. Requires experience w/ road design, drainage, erosion control, and hydrologic influences on roads required. Cross-sectional analysis, mitigation, and knowledge of road-related heavy equipment use desired. Local watershed or aquatic monitoring, analytical skills, data collectors, and ATV skills a plus!
