SEASONAL FORESTER: W.M. Beaty & Associates, Inc. is seeking applicants to fill several forestry positions for the upcoming field season.  Successful applicants will work jointly with District and Inventory Department Staffs on all aspects of field operations and/or timber inventory and gain exposure to forest management planning aspects for one of Northern California's longest standing forest management and consulting firms.  Candidates should possess, or have substantially completed a BS degree in forest management and have a career objective of becoming a California Registered Professional Forester.  Familiarity with northern California tree species, basic mensuration and silvicultural principles, and a general knowledge of the California Forest Practice Rules is prerequisite.  Two seasons of previous experience in a technical field forestry position is a minimum. PROPERTY MANAGEMENT LAND CONSULTANT: PG&E’s Natural Resource Management (NRM) Unit is comprised of three lines of business: Timber Management, Vegetation Management Services, and Transmission Line Access Road Maintenance. The Land Management Consultant will be responsible for oversight of Vegetation Management Services for internal clients associated with the System-wide Vegetation and Rodent Control Program, the System-wide Gas Line Clearing and Maintenance Program, and vegetation management on the Central and Southern Area Hydro systems and facilities. Responsibilities will include laws and regulations compliance, project planning and workload management, environmental leadership and safety compliance. This position will require 50% travel throughout PG&E's Southern Service Territory (Area 4). This will include the Central Valley, Central Coast and the Fresno/Bakersfield areas. The home base for this position is flexible, depending on the candidate's qualifications. Qualifications: Working knowledge of rare/endangered species/issues, working knowledge of federal and state environmental/biological permit requirements, BS/BA degree in Natural Resources or related field, 5 years experience in the management of natural resources, 5 years experience in project management and contract administration. WILDLIFE BIOLOGIST: W.M. Beaty & Associates, Inc. is seeking applicants for a Wildlife Biologist.  Successful applicants will become part of one of Northern California's longest standing and most respected forest management and consulting firms.  W.M. WILDLIFE/FORESTRY TECHNICIAN:  Timber Products Company (based out of Yreka, CA) is seeking a technician to assist in surveying, monitoring and administration of wildlife projects including Northern spotted owls, goshawks, fisher, terrestrial salamanders and other wildlife species.  May also assist or conduct native plant surveys.  Nighttime survey of spotted owls is the primary job task from April through July.  Assist in preparation of survey and monitoring maps using Arcmap.  Primarily in the fall, assist foresters with wildlife habitat information, timber cruising, timber harvest plan layout and collect field data using GPS. Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry, Wildlife, Fisheries or closely related discipline.  One field season experience in Northern spotted owl surveys.  Have strong quantitative, oral and communication skills.  Familiar with Microsoft Excel, Word and Arcmap or Arcview software.  Ability to work safely in rough, steep terrain during poor weather conditions.  Experience  driving ATV’s is desired.
