After a season as forestry aide at Blodgett Research Forest, she returned to Sonoma County and worked at Environmental Resource Solutions, a forestry and natural resource consulting company until 2016. She had the opportunity to work with small and large landowners on a variety of projects including NTMPs, carbon cruises, old growth redwood appraisals, and fire damage appraisals. She obtained her professional foresters license in 2016. During a several year stint at CAL FIRE, she worked on the Northern Region Review Team and learned how to be a firefighter. Looking to get back in the woods, Corrie then spent 3 years at SPI out of the Grass Valley office writing THPs and fire salvage logging. Dismayed by the rate of the forests burning in catastrophic wildfires across the state, she is now a PhD student at UC Berkeley researching the relationship between forest management and wildfire severity in the hopes to identify what forestry’s path forward might look like.
